Pipe Carrier and two bow-lances

Ethnographic Notes

A Tokala Society Pipe Carrier and two lances.The shafts of the two bow-lances were wrapped with blue beads, with two pendants made of twisted fox skin, attached crow & magpie feathers, and a large eagle feather at the tip. One straight and one crooked lance were wrapped with otterskin, each with pendant strips of fur in four clusters and a single eagle feather (Wissler, 1912: 16).
