Three prairie dogs

Ethnographic Notes

Three prairie dogs, in Lakota “squeakers”(pispiza---Buechel, 1970: 444). Depicted in very characteristic poses, and including their tiny claws, this is an outstanding example of Black Road's perceptive abilities as a zoologist, as well as of his artistic skill.
