The hoop with the dragonfly larvae shown here is quite similar to the one held by the Buffalo Dreamer in Plate 12, Page 20, except the top half is red instead of yellow. Similar hoops are depicted in a number of Walter Bone Shirt drawings, including Walter Bone Shirt Ledger - UC San Diego Library plate 14, Gilcrease Museum 4526.13.11, and Detroit Institute of Art,81.233.5-verso.
