Ethnographic Notes

Vertical BIRDS: Five Game Birds The entire drawing is lead pencil, filling the top 4/5 of the of the page. A leafless bush or tree has five birds perched in the numerous branches--ten on the right and seven on the left. They are profiled, facing the same direction. One bird is at the top, two in the lower right branches, and two in the upper left branches. The top, lower right, and lower left birds have dark markings on the back. All have long curved necks. Folded wings are visible on each, and all their legs are plump.
