Great-horned Owl and Two Porcupines

A great-horned owl, in Lakota the “the big one with feathers standing up,” (hinhan tanka); and two porcupines, called “hairy hills,” (pahin), one shown gnawing on the tender bark of a sapling (Buechel, 1970: 176 & 425).
