Ethnographic Notes

This is the only drawing in the ledger which is NOT the work of Black Road. The form is an inept version of the body, legs and tail of the dog in Plate 7, to which has been grafted the head and neck of a horse, facing backwards. One suspects it might be the work of a young child, perhaps one of the triplets born to Black Road's wife in 1873.
