Various owners (dispersed); Morning Star Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Sotheby's sale (1987), New York, "Drawings by Sitting Bull at Red Cloud Indian Agency, now Fort Robinson, Neb[raska]. Drawn about 1874 for Dr. J. J. Saville, Indian Agent". Doctor John J. Saville of Iowa worked as a doctor on the Pine Ridge reservation between 1873-1875. During that period, he and his wife took a trip to Washington along with Lakota from the reservation.
