J. Lindahl deltog i olika slags forskningsprojekt, såväl svenska som amerikanska. Bland annat deltog han 1870 som zoolog i en kryssning för djupvattensforskning i Atlanen och Medelhavet, genom engelsmannen J. Gwyn Jeffery's förmedling, och1871 som zoolog i A.E. Nordenskiölds expedition till Grönland. /ASH Associate Professor of Zoology, PhD, Professor of Natural Science and Mathematics, geologist, and natural scientist; born in Kungsbacka, he lived and worked for many years in the USA. Lindahl laid the foundation for science education at Swedish-American schools.

J. Lindahl participated in various research projects, both Swedish and American. Among other things, in 1870 he took part as a zoologist in a deep-sea research cruise in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean—facilitated by the Englishman J. Gwyn Jeffreys—and in 1871 served as a zoologist on A.E. Nordenskiöld’s expedition to Greenland. /ASH
