Society Gathering for new mambers

This part of the new members being taken in to the society are being spoken to by with the person who has the gourd and songs go with this . Then there will be a feeding of the whole camp by the families of the new members and a giveaway.
The Bowstring Warrior Society had four virgin sisters as their sisters and these two with warbonnets were probably being added because two of the virgin sisters may have gotten married.
Hello, I enjoy the posts and descriptions very much and visit this site often.
However on this drawing it does appear he is murdering the baby ( I do not use 'killing' since it is indeed a murder if he killed it).
I enhanced the drawing a bit and in the enhanced version there does appear to be faded red 'blood' around the babies head and more importantly than that, if it represented a coup normally the butt end of the lance would be shown and even used in battle.
Also please note the same faded red around the eagle feathers. Very faded, but there nonetheless.
It is a very quick and easy twist of the wrist to spin the lance head end to the blunt end when meaning to kill or just count coup, so IMO this does indeed show a baby being murdered.
Also I find this line interesting ...."Instantly, over the crash of enemy gunfire, rises the shrill and lilting "Li-li-li-li" of Cheyenne approbation, as his fellows sing him safely out, and away from danger."
Well.... "Li li li li" sure sounds like women trilling and that was never done by men.. Thank you

Draw your own conclusions..
